Recruitment is the crucial element of HRM in an organisation. As Recruitment and Training Manager for Bentley and Co, my job is to make sure the staff has the higher skills required for the success of an organisation and expansion in the business. The training of the staff is required to upgrade the skills of the staff. Training is necessary to ensure an adequate supply of staff that are technically and socially competent, and capable of career advancement into specialist departments. As mentioned in the case study staff in retailing has fewer qualifications. Bentley and Co is a retailing company and looking at the case study of THE PROSPECT OF APPRENTICESHIP IN BRITISH RETAILING, it suggests that staff in retailing have fewer qualifications compared with those in other sectors: 20%of staff have no real qualifications, 12% are qualified only to level 1.There is a perception therefore that retailers need to increase the skill levels of their workforce.
