I am investigating the rates of reaction when the concentration of acids is altered. The compound I am using is Sodium Thiosulphate and the acid is Hydrochloric Acid. The balanced symbol equation for the reaction will be Na2S2O2 + 2HC.

I will measure the reaction rate by placing some paper under the flask containing the reaction. I will draw a black cross on the paper, place it underneath the flask and time how long it takes to disappear.
There are several variables to consider which could affect the rate of reaction. These are surface area, temperature and whether or not there is a catalyst present in the reactionThe higher the temperature the more energy particles have which means an increased of successful collisions. This would also speed up the rate of reaction.
