...Trenches were very boring most of the time and could even lead to soldiers being driven mental, there wasn’t action happening 100% of the time so the soldiers had to wait patiently for the next orders to be set. Soldiers were terrified of who was going to die next, just imagine not knowing if the man on your right or you was going to die next.
The trenches were freezing in the winter and under an unbearable heat in the summer. Soldiers became ill, got trench foot and even some other diseases also.
Trenches were muddy, damp and cold in the wet season which made life in the trenches even worse than it was and Soldiers were in low spirits most of the time.
