First of all, the interest of students is the importance one which affect the English standards to be fell. If a subject is a students interest, students will more eager to learn and enjoy. On the contrary, if students have no interest on the subject, the subject will become more difficult and boring. Thus, we must foster our students’ interest on English. Otherwise, the English standard will continue to fall. On the other hand, play some games about English like scrabble that can improve English standard.

Besides, the number of English teachers in Hong Kong is not enough because one English teacher must face30 to 40 students. It finds that it difficult o build up a relationship with every student. Moreover, it is not easy to help students to improve their language ability. Hence, more teachers are needed for students and lower the ratio of teachers and students. It also is best to school to have more native English teachers because its provide more ‘real’ situation which help students can practice more. Enough practice is important to student because ‘ practice make perfect’. The faster the native English teacher can provide, the faster the English standard can be increased.

Las but not least, our education system is one of the factor affect us most. This is because we have boon switched to mother-tongue teaching. Students have less chance to read and speak in English. Although this system make it easier for students to students to study other subject, it is not fair for students who English standard is not bad or even good. When you study in Chinese in science subjects but using Chinese, how can students communicate with foreign scientist the future? These lead students to speak English in English lesson only. In their daily life, only Chinese will be used. Thus, it will lead students to lack confident on English. They will fear of English. The Hong Kong Government have already introduced a policy which is called Fine Turning Policy. It aim at help students to improve their English standard by increasing English classes number. This lead students to have more chance to us e English . this can increase the English quality of Hong Kong students.
